Ⅰ．はじめに

　頭蓋内epidermoid cystは，頭蓋内腫瘍の0.7％−2.5％を占め，現在までMahoney¹⁶, King^14）およびRand^22）らによる詳細な報告がみられる．また本邦においても1906年の山村ら^27）の報告以後かなりの症例報告^17，26）が散見されており，もはやまれな腫瘍ではないが，後頭蓋窩epidermoid cystについての，診断ならびに外科的治療などの臨床的考察が加えられた報告はまだ少ない．われわれは，三叉神経痛発作を主症状とした興味ある症例1例を含む，後頭蓋窩epidermoid cyst 5症例を経験したので，後頭蓋窩epidermoid cystについての文献的考察を加えながら，臨床所見，および外科的治療を中心にして報告する．

Five eases of posterior fossa epidermoid cyst including one case with tic douloureux have been reported with special reference to its symptomatology, diagnosis, and surgical results.

Epidermoid cyst in the cerebello-pontine angle results in measurable impairment in the auditory and vestibular systems less frequently than do other tumors in this location. Epidermoid cyst producing tic douloreux occurs predominantly in young adults and the compression of the sensory root of the trigeminal nerve by tumors may result in paroxysmal pain without objective sensory impaiment.
