  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

We have already reported the method of temporary preservation of a free skull bone flap in subcutaneously in the thigh. In this paper the follow-up study of these cases was reported. Additional experiences of subcutaneous deposit of a bone flap in children were also presented.

Configuration over the bone flap was satisfactory and a good bony fusion was clearly noted on the X-ray films taken a year later. No apparent tendency of absorption of the bone flap was noted.

In children there was a remakable tendency of early bony fusion of the bone flap with surrounding skull in comparison with that in adult cases.
