Ⅰ．はじめに

　老年者の脳腫瘍に関しては今日まで多くの報告がみられ，その中で老人であるがゆえの特殊性についてもたびたび論ぜられてきた^{9，10，13，17，23）}．今回われわれは最近の10年間に経験した脳腫瘍の中で老年者の髄膜腫16例について検討し，若干の考察を加え特に脳血管障害と鑑別する上で脳スャンが重要であることを強調する．

Despite vast improvement in diagnostic techniques in neurosurgery during the past few decades, there still remain a significant number of intracranial tumors in geriatric age group, which are not ecognized in the early course of the disease or during life. We are now focusing on the diagnostic problems of meningiomas in the geriatric age group and stressing the significant value of brain scanning in the differential diagnosis of brain tumors from cerebral vascular disease or other conditions.
