　19歳，男性．尿閉，発熱，両下肢脱力感を主訴に来院した．髄液検査にて無菌性髄膜炎，およびその他の神経，理学的所見より多発根神経炎と診断した．第6病日よりプレドニゾロンの投与を開始し，以後漸減した．膀胱機能は無緊張型を呈しており，バルーンカテーテルを留置していたが第31病日には正常に戻り自尿可能となった．

A 19 years old man was admitted to our hospital with complaints of urinary retention, high fever and dullsense of bilateral legs. A spinal fluid examination showed aseptic meningitis. associated with radiculoneuritissuspected by other neurological examinations. The result of cystometry revealed atonic bladder. We gave himantibiotics and steroid hormone. Neurological symptons decreased gradually, and at the 31 st day, cystometryshowed normal vesical function and he became free of balloon catheter. It is suggested that this unusual signof urinary retention in aseptic menigitis was caused by viral radiculoneuritis.
