　他院にて膀胱全摘をすすめられた多発性乳頭状膀胱腫瘍の2例にBCG膀胱内注入療法を施行したところ，著明な腫瘍数の減少が得られ，残存腫瘍を経尿道的に切除することにより，膀胱保存が可能となつた。

We report 2 patients with superficial papillary tumors of the bladder who were treated with intra-vesical bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG). In both cases numerous tumors were located in the whole bladder mucosa and not amenable to transurethral resection. These patients initially received a total of 12 intravesical instillations of 80mg BCG (Tokyo 172 strain) with marked reduction in the number of tumors and subsequently underwent a complete transurethral resection of the residual tumor. Thus, intravesical BCG is useful in the treatment of multiple papillary tumors of the bladder that are not amenable to transurethral resection.
