　膀胱上皮内癌13例および表在性膀胱腫瘍13例の計26例に治療目的でBCG（Tokyo172株）40mgを10回膀胱内注入した．注入終了後4週で効果判定した．膀胱上皮内癌に対する効果は著効11例（85％），有効1例（8％），進行1例，表在性膀胱腫瘍に対する効果は著効7例（54％），有効3例（23％），不変1例，進行2例であった．全体で85％の奏効率であった．BCG注入終了後6〜29ヵ月，平均15ヵ月の経過観察期間に著効と判定した19例のうち2例（11％）が再発した．副作用は，膀胱刺激症状22例（85％），肉眼的血尿8例（31％），発熱8例（31％）などであった．これらの結果から，BCG 40mg 10回注入療法は1回量80mgを用いた場合と遜色のない奏効率が得られるといえる．

We reviewed the results of 10 successive intravesical instillations of 40 mg of BCG in 13 patients with in situ bladder carcinoma and 13 patients with superficial (Ta or T1) bladder carcinoma. The patients underwent the instillation once a week for 8 weeks and then twice biweekly. The effects were evaluated 4 weeks after completion of the instillation. In patients with in situ carcinoma, complete response was achieved in 11 (85%) patients and partial response in 1 (8%), while the disease progressed in another one patient.
