緒言

　刺杭創とは杭様物体の刺入によつて生じる開放性損傷で，欧米においてはMadelung^1）やStiassnyら^2）の多くの報告があるが，本邦では比較的稀な外傷である。

　われわれは垣根の杭が刺入し腹腔内にまで達した膀胱直腸刺杭創の1例を経験したので報告する。

A 40-year-old man fell astride a wooden stake from a three-meters-high roof. It was shown by operation that a wooden picket had penetrated into the peritonal cavity through the rectum and the urinary bladder. Repair of the wounds were made. Postoperative course was uneventful. Forty five cases, including our case, of impalement injury of the urinary bladder were seen in the Japanese literature with the first report by Nunome in 1927. Only 25 of 45 cases were impalement injury of both the rectum and the urinary bladder.
