　本症は1957年Pinkus^1）及びBraun-Falco^2）によつて一疾患単位としての概念が明確に規定され，それ以後世界の諸地域から比較的多くの報告がみられるようになつた。そしてPlotnikら^3）の最近の集計（1965）によれば既に90例にも及んでいる。本邦においては鳴海^4），亀井ら^5）の各1例の報告以来朝田ら^6），松中ら^7）の原著がみられ，また昭和41年度の総会に福代ら^8），田中ら^9）によつて本症の症例が供覧された。著者らもその1例を経験しているので，ここに追加報告することにした。

A 16-year-old man having infiltrated plaques of mucinosis follicularis on the left cheek around the naso-labial fold and on the chin was reported.

The lesion on the cheek was completely cured by soft x-ray therapy with a total of 300r in 3 doses of 100r at 43 KV with a 0.6mm. thick aluminum filter to a 2×2cm. field and that on the chin with a total of 225r in 3 doses of 75r at 29 KV with a 0.3mm. thick aluminum filter.

The B.M.R. was-12%. The results of an I¹³¹ uptake by the thyroid, scintigram and serum cholesterol level were within normal limits. This low B.M.R. might have some conn-ection with the development of the skin condition.

The histopathology was typical. Mucinous edematous parts in the follicles and the seba-ceous glands showed metachromasia by toluidine blue stain at pH 4.1. but it was negative at pH 2.5. It was also positive with Alcian blue stain at pH 3.0, but negative at pH 0.4. The metachromatic substances were digested by testicular hyaluronidase. The parts of severe mucinous edema were negative with PAS stain.
