　はじめに

　近年再建術式の進歩に伴い分化型甲状腺癌の進展例に対して積極的に拡大手術が行われつつある。また遠隔転移のあるものについても，転移巣が切除可能ならば積極的な切除が試みられている。今回われわれは胸骨転移をきたした甲状腺濾胞癌の1症例を経験し，それに対して胸骨切除術を加えた根治術を施行したので若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する。

A patient underwent radical resection of folli-cular carcinoma of thyroid gland metastasized to the sternum. The thyroid gland tumor was very large (8×12cm) and a metastatic lesion was found in the upper portion of the sternum. The defect of upper portion of sternum was reconstru-cted with muscle flap of right pectorals major. Few reports about resection of sternum metastasis of thyroid tumor are found in the past literature. But we suggest that we should try radical resec-tion, if the sternum metastasis is solitary, using the suitable reconstruction.
