Ⅰ．はじめに

　唾液分泌過多症は唾液分泌の絶対量が多い真性のものと，嚥下障害や上部消化管の占拠性病変による通過障害に伴い唾液が貯留した仮性のものとに分類される^1,2）。真性唾液分泌過多症の原因には，薬物性のものや消化器疾患に伴うもの，脳血管障害，パーキンソン病に伴うものなどが報告されており，治療の原則はおのおのの原因に応じたものが中心となる^1,2）。一方，原疾患の制御が困難である場合や，特発性の真性唾液分泌過多症の場合には，治療に難渋することが多い^2）。今回，われわれは，種々の治療に抵抗性であった特発性の真性唾液分泌過多症に対して，漢方製剤である茵蔯五苓散^®が著効した1例を経験したので報告する。

　Inchin-goreisan^® is a Chinese drug that had unique properties for diurese effect without any affection for ion-balance of the urine and the blood by the regulation of water transport system in the body. We reported a case of progressive idiopathic hypersalivation. Various medical therapies including anticholinergic and antihistamine drugs,minor tranquilizer or surgical resection of the tympanic nerve plexsus could not make useful effect for the patient at all. After the administration of Inchin-goreisan^®,his hypersalivation was improved in a few days with the episode of diuresis for three times a night.
