A 26-year-old man had been suffered from excessive salivation especially when speaking and eating for the past 5 years. The excessive flow of saliva interfered his conversation, taking food, and it was embarrasing the patient very much.
Examinations of the function of major salivary glands revealed hyperactivity especially of his left parotid gland.
Leriche's operation was performed and his excessive salivation was improved. However, recurrence was observed 3 months later. Left total parotidectomy had to be done before his subjective symptoms were improved.
