Ⅰ．はじめに

　免疫組織化学の発達により，甲状腺の小細胞性未分化癌と以前に診断されていたものは，現在は悪性リンパ腫に分類されている。甲状腺原発の小細胞癌はその存在について疑問視する意見もある。今回われわれは，免疫組織化学的に証明された甲状腺原発小細胞癌の1例を経験したので報告する。

　The majority of small cell anaplastic tumors of thyroid which were formerly classfied as small cell carcinoma（SCC）of thyroid are now found to be lymphomas or variant forms of other types of thyroid malignancy. Controversy exsists as to whether SCC can develop as a distinct entity in the thyroid. Some literature advocate primary SCC of the thyroid may occur.

　We reported a case of primary SCC of the thyroid. This diagnosis was made with immunohistochemical confirmation. The patient was treated with surgery and following chemo-radiation therapy. But he had poor prognosis and died with disseminated disease within 18 months.
