耳下腺原発小細胞癌症例

Small cell carcinoma of the parotid gland

Ⅰ．はじめに

　唾液腺の小細胞癌は全唾液腺腫瘍の1％未満，同部の悪性腫瘍のおよそ2％にみられる稀な予後不良の腫瘍である^1～3）。WHO分類では独立した腫瘍として分類されている^1）。今回われわれは，耳下腺原発の小細胞癌を経験したので若干の文献検的考察を加えて報告する。

　A 86-year-old Japanese male presented with a swollen left neck. He was surgically treated with additional radiotherapy. The resected specimen was histopathologically and ultrastructually diagnoced as small cell carcinoma. However, after the initial treatment, distant metastasis appeared in the lung, and he died 11 months after the initial diagnosis. The clinical features of small cell carcinoma of the parotid gland were discussed.
