　82歳女性が左上眼瞼の径20mm大の硬性腫瘤で受診した。腫瘤に相当する部位の球結膜に潰瘍があった。生検で高分化型扁平上皮癌と診断した。電子線6MeVによる放射線治療を行った。4Gyでの週2回の照射を計9回行った結果，腫瘍の永続的な治癒が得られた。以後10か月間の観察で，網膜や水晶体などに副作用は生じていない。総計36Gyの少ない線量で眼瞼の扁平癌が根治できることを示す症例である。

A 82-year-old female presented with a hard tumor of 20mm× 20mm in size in her left upper eyelid. There was an ulcerous lesion in the palpebral conjunctiva corresponding to the site of tumor. Biopsy showed a highly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. The tumor was treated by electron beam radiation at 6MeV. A lasting clinical cure was obtained after a twice-weekly session totalling 36 Gy. There has been no untoward effect on the retina or the lens during 10 months after radiation. This case illustrates that carcinoma of the eyelid can be cured by radiation totalling 36 Gy only.
