  • Look Inside

A 52-year-old male presented with reduced visual acuity in his left eye since 2 months before. His corrected visual acuity was 1.2 right and 0.8 left. Both eyes showed angioid streaks. The pigment streak ran through the fovea associated with subfoveal neovascularization in his left eye. Biopsy of the skin showed pseudoxanthoma elasticum. After the left visual acuity decreased to 0.2 2 months later, the left eye received external radiation at the daily dosis of 2 Gy totalling 20 Gy. During the ensuing 4 months, the left visual acuity has stabilized at 0.2. The subfoveal lesion became flattened, showed decreased dye leakage by fluorescein angiography, and the choroidal neovascularization showed no increase in size. There has been no complication due to radiation.
