　特発性ポリープ状脈絡膜血管症idiopathic polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy7例9眼に，インドシアニングリーン赤外螢光造影を行った。造影早期に脈絡膜循環障害を示す斑状病巣内に，枝状脈絡膜血管網が描出された。造影中期から後期には，血管網の先端部が典型的なポリープ状拡張を呈するものと，脈絡膜血管新生膜を呈するものとがあった。脈絡膜血管網に対してレーザー光凝固を行った。9眼中8眼にポリープ状病変が再発し，平均45か月の経過中に7眼で2段階以上の視力低下があった。本症に対するレーザー光凝固は，病変の進展を—時的に遅らせることがあるが，再発が多く，中心窩病変のために最終視力が低下した。

We examined 9 eyes of 7 cases with idiopathic polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy by indocyanine green angiography. Early-phase angiogram showed branched networks of choroidal neovascularization in areas of impaired choroidal circulation. Middle-to late-phase angiogram showed either choroidal neovascular membrane or polypoidal dilatations. After laser photocoagulation of choroidal neovascularizations, polypoidal lesions recurred in 8 of 9 treated eyes. After an average of 45 months, the visual acuity decreased by 2 lines or more in 7 eyes. The findings show that laser photocoagulation may delay the progression of lesions but that final visual acuity may be poor due to frequent recurrences and involvement of the fovea.
