　1969年から1989年まで癌研究会附属病院で臨床的に脈絡膜への転移性腫瘍と診断された53症例を検討した。1979年以前の11年間に20例，1980年以降の10年間に33例があり，症例数は増加していた。眼科を受診した癌患者数に占める脈絡膜転移の割合には変化がなく，症例数の増加は癌患者数の増加によるものであった。原発癌は乳癌34例，肺癌7例，消化管癌7例，そのほかの癌4例，不明1例で乳癌の症例数が多く，癌患者に占める脈絡膜転移の割合も高かった。1979年以前と1980年以降で原発癌に差はなかった。原発癌の診断から脈絡膜転移までの期間は肺癌では1年未満であるのに対し，乳癌では1年以上が多かった。転移後の生存期間は乳癌で長期化していた。

We reviewed 53 cases of car carcinoma metas-tatic to the choroid seen by us from 1969 through 1989. There were 20 cases during the 11 years up to 1979 and 33 cases during the next 10 years. The tumor metastasized from: breast 33 (64%), lung 7 (13%), gastrointestinal tract 7 (13%), others 4 (8%) and undetermined 1 (3%). Metastasis from the lung to the choroid took place within one year after the primary diagnosis of the tumor. Metas-tasis from the breast to the choroid took place after one year after the initial diagnosis in all the cases but one. The survival time after detection of chor-oidal metastasis was longer in cases of breast cancer than in lung cancer. The choroidal tumor regressed in all 34 eyes treated by external beam irradiation.
