緒言

　脈絡膜腫瘍が全眼疾患に対して占める割合は決して多いものではない。近年悪性腫瘍に対する治療法の進歩に伴い，転移性脈絡膜腫瘍に遭遇する機会が多くなる一方，診断技術の向上により原発性腫瘍の発見率も高まりつつある。しかし，なお脈絡膜腫瘍の診断が下される以前に，網膜剥離あるいは中心性網脈絡膜炎などの診断を受けている例も少なくない。私たちは最近5年間に6例の脈絡膜腫瘍を経験したので報告する。

Six cases of choroidal tumor have been diag-nosed in the authors' clinic during the past five years. They consisted of one hemangioma, two malignant melanoma and three metastatic tumor cases. Five of the 6 cases had initially been treated as central chorioretinitis, retinal detach-ment, iridocyclitis or commotio retinae.

While it has generally been accepted that choroidal tumor is a rare occurrence in Japan, the present finding indicates that tumor of the choroid, whether primary or metastatic, may be somewhat more common in the general po-pulation.
