　眼科外来用カルテのコンピュータ化のために，カルテに記録する情報のうち，「文字型」のデータを，パーソナルコンピュータで記録した．データ入力の分散化のために，受付，視力室，診察室に，それぞれパーソナルコンピュータを置き，患者名，年齢等を受付で，屈折データを視力室で，診療データを診察室で入力し，互いに通信ライン（RS232C規格）で連絡し，磁気ディスクにすべての患者のデータを記録した．データは患者名以外，ほとんどコード化して入力した．

　コンピュータのプログラムは，BASIC言語で作製した．

　このような情報のコード化と，入力の分散化により，パーソナルコンピュータによる眼科外来患者のデータベース化が可能となり，情報の検索，統計などに応用することが可能となった．

A data base system for outpatients in ophthalmic practice was developed. This system is based on a personal computer. It intends to replace the existing clinical records and to enable information retrieval and statistics.

This system employs BASIC language. Computer terminals are placed in various areas in the office : the reception desk where names, ages and otherdata of the patients are inputted, the vision and refraction testing room, and consultation room where physical examination data are inputted. These terminals are connected by a communication line (RS232C) resulting in establishing master data base. As a unique feature of the system, the clinical data are coded except the names of the patients.
