眼瞼の皮膚は皮下脂肪がなく，眼輪筋がすぐ下をこあり，ここで作る皮弁は一種のmyocutaneous flapとなり極めて血行がよい。それ故作られるsubcutaneous pedicle flapも，myocutaneous island flapの形となって，相当細い茎部でも安全である。
subcutaneous pedicle flapの利点は皮弁の自由度が大きく，dog earが生じにくく，onestageで手術を終える事ができる。
我々は眉毛部母斑切除後の創閉鎖，下眼瞼外反の形成，下眼瞼悪性腫瘍切除後の再建にこれを利用し良好な結果を得た。
Excellent cosmetic results were obtained in 3 cases after plastic surgery with subcutaneous pedi-cle flaps. The method was used for wound closure after resection of a nevus in the eyebrow, for cor-rection ectropion in the lower eyelid and for repair of eyelid defect following resection of malignant tumor.
The skin in the eyelid lacks subcutaneous fat and the orbicular muscle lies near under the skin.
