  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

It is thought that the best procedure to relieve the epiphora due to occluded of lacrimal canaliculus is to perform a conjunctivodacryocystrhinostomy with the Jones tube, though there are some troubles with this procedure. One of them is that the Jones tube comes out easily and the new passage which contained it soon begins to shrink. Another one is that the collar of the Jones tube is sometimes displaced downwards and becomes submerged.

We used preserved human sclera to settle these troubles. A tube was made of the preserved human sclera, 3 mm in inside diameter and 18 mm in length.
