　眼球鉄錆症の水晶体鉄質沈着の部位は水晶体前嚢下にのみならず前嚢上と後嚢上にもある。1974年，著者は水晶体鉄質沈着の部位についてまず前嚢上から始まり次に前嚢下に及ぶことの論点を述べた。

　水晶体鉄質沈着の深浅分布および平面分布の型を分けた。細隙灯光学断面で前嚢上および前嚢下の鉄質沈着の情況がよく見られることは眼科医に便利な方法を供与した。

　本症の漏診について簡単な分析によると新しい早期診断法が必要であることがわかった。

　著者の発見した新しいSign，すなわちHydrogonioscopyの角膜黄色反射の若干の知見を述べた。

Seventeen cases with siderosis bulbi were evalu-ated as to the type of deposit of iron in the crystalline lens. The interval between the initial trauma and the present examination ranged be-tween 5 and 37 months.

In 15 out of the 16 affected eyes, the siderosis was located on the anterior capsule either alone or in addition to iron deposit in the cortex. In only one eye was the siderosis located subcapsularly alone. The finding seemed to indicate that the deposit of iron started on the anterior capsule and extended later to involve the inner structure of the crystalline lens.
