本文では著者の眼球鉄錆症の早期診断法を紹介した。角膜黄色反射の発生機序，春田らの螢光消失法との比較および真仮黄色反射の鑑別診断などの問題について簡単に討論した。本法は眼球鉄錆症の早期診断に対して非常に有用であった。
I developed a simplified method of hydrogonios-copy in 1970. It is based on the optical principle similar to the gonioscope of Troncoso. The patient is examined in the supine position. The observation is made under the diffuse illumination and througha magnification of 4×. In 1972, I discovered the presence of yellow corneal reflex as an early sign of siderosis bulbi when observed by hydrogonio-scopy. It appears as yellow- or oranged-tinged opti-cal section of the cornea and the inner dome.
