病毒消点眼液の抗HSV-I実験結果および臨床応用について

Syringa oblata leaf ophthalmic solution against HSV-I infection. Experimental and clinical appraisal

　病毒消点眼液（著者らの命名）の抗HSV-I実験を施行した。実験的研究により病毒消点眼液の抗HSV-I作用を証明した。我々は1984年8月よりこれを臨床的に応用し，単純ヘルペス性角膜炎の228例247眼に30％病毒消点眼液を点眼し，満足な結果を得たので報告する。また病毒消点眼液は長期間安定であり，単純ヘルペス性角膜炎の第一選択治療薬として期待される。

We could verify the beneficial effect of syringa oblata leaf ophthalmic solution against herpes sim-plex virus type 1 (HSV-I) in a series of in vitro experiments utilizing tissue culture. We then treat-ed 247 eyes with herpes simplex keratitis with this ophthalmic solution. The cases included superficial keratitis 97 eyes, anterior parenchymatous keratitis 65 eyes, middle-layer parenchymous type 27 eyes and deep disciform keratitis 58 eyes.

The treatment was effective in inducing cure of the corneal lesion in an overwhelming majority of the treated cases. Excellent effect was obtained in 97 of the 97 eyes (100%) with superficial keratitis, in 64 of 65 eyes (98%) with anterior paren-chymatous lesion, in 24 of 27 eyes (96%) with middle-layer parenchymoutous lesion, and in 55 of 58 eyes (95%) with deep disciform lesion. The treatment was also remarkable in the very low rate of recurrence of 2% in the present series.
