日本における眼部悪性黒色腫の頻度について

Incidence of malignant melanoma of the eye in Japan

緒　言

　悪性黒色腫は網膜芽細胞腫と異なりその頻度の人種差が著しいものとして良く知られている^1）。しかし眼部悪性黒色腫の日本での頻度に関しては全国的規模による症例の集計は行なわれていない。著者はこの問題につき1972年より76年までの5年間について全国調査を行い，幸いにも全国の眼科医のご協力により興味ある知見を得たので報告する。

I made a nationwide, retrospective survey on the incidence of malignant melanoma of the uvea, conjunctiva, eyelid and lacrimal sack in Japan for the 5-year period from 1972 through 1976. Cases of malignant melanoma of the eye were registered by mail concerning the name, sex, age, clinical features, histological diagnosis and the year of diagnosis. This registration was supported by all of 87 univer-sity hospitals and 1,110 out of 1,135 (98%) o hospitals with eye department.

There were a total of 206 cases with malignant mela-noma throughout the 5-year period. The diagnosis was confirmed histologically in all but 6 cases.
