緒　言

　眼球突出，視力障害は気づかれやすい症状であり，まず眼科を受診することが多い。これらの症状を呈する疾患のなかには，解剖学的に眼窩あるいは視神経と近接し，比較的薄い骨壁で隔てられている副鼻腔における病変がその原因となつているものが少なくない。

　眼球突出あるいは球後視神経炎をきたし，その原因が副鼻腔疾患に基づくものであつた症例を，本院開院以来現在までの約1年半の間に13例経験した。術後確定された診断は，副鼻腔嚢腫が11例であつた。嚢腫には，副鼻腔内に粘液の貯留したムコツェーレ（粘液嚢腫）と膿汁の貯留したピオツェーレ（膿嚢腫）とがあるが，両者は治療の上で特に異なつた処置を必要としないため，両者を区別せず一括して嚢腫としてまとめた。既に深道ら^1,2）をはじめとして，眼症状を呈した副鼻腔嚢腫の報告が多くなされているが，今回のわれわれの経験からも，かなり高頻度にみられるものと思われる。以上の13症例について，眼症状とX線所見等を中心にしてその診断および経過について報告する。

Thirteen cases of diseases of the paranasal sinuses occurring in patients with ocular signs and symptoms were reported. Of these eyes, 11 had exophthalmos and 4 had decreased visual acuity. Of the four cases with decreased visual acuity, two had retrobulbar neuritis and other two had retinal striae formation. Rhinogenic exoph-thalmos was present in 42% of our cases. Ten of the thirteen patients possessed a past history of chronic paranasal sinus operation. Roentgen exa-mination and computed tomographical findings were useful to illustrate the value of the rhino-genic lesion associated with ocular findings.
