ソフトコンタクトレンズによる乾性角結膜炎の治療

Treatment for keratoconjunctivitis sicca with soft contact lenses

緒　言

　シェーグレン病患者にとって，人工涙液の点眼は自覚症状の軽快に100％の効果があることが報告されている^1）。しかし，ある会社の医家むけ人工涙液の販売中止により，適当な局所療法剤としての点眼液が姿を消した。また，頻回の点眼を要する不便さもあった。

　今回著者らは，シェーグレン病等の涙液分泌減少症には使用禁忌といわれていた2−HEMAの重合体を素材とするソフトコンタクトレンズ（以下SCL）を，そのbandage effectと，水分補給を目的として，厚生省研究班の診断基準による原因不明の乾性角結膜炎（以下KCS）患者に装用させた。また，自覚症状より得たKCS-Indexを作成し，初診時より治療によつてIndex値がいかに変化したかをも検討した。

Fifteen ceses of keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS) of unknown etiology were treated with soft con-tact lenses for the purpose of their bandage and wetting effects. The soft contact lens was worn unilaterally only, while the fellow eye was un-touched to serve as control. Ophthalmic solutions newly designed for contact lens wearers were prescribed for both eyes.

We worked out KCS-Index on the basis of the complaints of 29 KCS patients of unknown etiology. The indices before and after treatment were compared.
