緒言

　欧米には乾性角結膜炎の患者が比較的多く，瀰蔓性表層角膜炎の報告が少ないのに反し，日本ではそれと全く逆現象を呈し，乾性角結膜炎（K．sicca）の報告は少なく，極めて稀な疾患になつている。しかしながら我々が3年間に10例のK．siccaを見出した事は既に第1報^1）に記した通りである。そこでこの度は本病の本態究明の一助にと，3例の涙腺と，4例の球結膜を試験的に切除し，組織学的検索を試みてみた。

We had examined 10 cases of keratoconjuntivitis sicca. Three of them were histologically inspected of the palpebral lacrimal gland, four of them of the bulber conjunctiva and one of them of the sweat gland. From these inspections we conld obtain the following result. We found the atrophy of the gland-cells on the palpebrel lcrimal glands of two cases and at one of the two small roundcell infiltration, unrounded-cell infiltration with the nucleus with poor chromatine, and the follicles with the reticulated structure were recognized.
