緒言

　緑内障は眼疾患中割合に多く，統計的に外来患者の1％前後を占め，近年漸増の傾向を辿り，比較的女子に多いとされている。緑内障の眼素質，即ち先天性素因が重要な役割を演じているということは一般に認められていることではあるが，実際に文献を渉猟するとその遺伝関係についての報告は極めて少い。私達は最近父子6名中4名に現われた所謂若年者緑内障の1家系に関して詳細に検索する機会を得たので，ここに報告する。

In a family, the author observed 4 glaucomatous patients out of 6 persons who were a father and his children.

1) Among them, 4 persons were male and two were female, and the father, his two daughters and the 3rd son were glaucomatous. In the female the ratio of manifestation of glaucoma was higher than that in the male.

2) The ages, when the glaucoma was first manifested, were 12 years of the father, 20 of the first daughter, 12 of the second daughter and 7 of the third son. The 4 patients were all short of stature, broad of chested and fat.
