眼窩骨折とWaters氏の鼻尖頤位撮影像

Orbital fractures and their roentgenograms:especially related to Waters'-view

緒言

　近時交通機関の発達，重工業及び近代スポーツの発展につれて，顔面に外傷を受ける者の数が増した。これ等の患者を外来に迎えて，頭蓋の骨折が疑われる時は，視神経管撮影と同時に，眼窩を構成する諸骨に，骨折があるかどうかを検討しなければならない。周知の如く眼窩のレ線像は，その構造上読影がきわめて困難で，臨床的に骨折の診断を下し得るにも拘わらず，尚レ線上その所見を認め得ぬ事がある。しかしながら，臨床像に加えてレ線上に所見を認め得たならば，診断は決定的となるのみならず，合わせて骨片の正確なる位置，偏位の程度，遊離骨片の相互位置を知ることが出来るので，如何なる場合にも，これを欠くことは出来ない。殊に他日事件が法廷で争われるような場合，レ線像の重要性は論をまたない。

　我々は最近，従来のCaldwell氏撮影法に加えて，Waters氏法を用いて，比較的良い結果を得たので報告する。Waters氏法は1915年に，鼻洞を呈示する為に，WatersとWaldronに依つて発表され，その特徴は，

Four cases of facial trauma are demonstrated through the use of roentgenographic diagnosis of orbital fractures. Tozuka's projection gives a satisfactory view of the orbits, zygomata and the nasal cavity : however, to observe the maxillary antra and zygomatic arch, Waters projection gives the clearer view. This view is indispensable in a general survey about the orbits. Both projections, however, fall short in a study of the frontal bone, its sinus, ethmoid and superior orbital regions, as compared with Caldwell's view.
