まえがき

　緑内障の手術は従来GraefeのIridectomie，ElliotのTrepanation．HeineのCyclodialyse等が行われていたが，近年はIridencleisis．Go-niotomie, Cyclodiathermie, Angiodiather-mie等の方法が紹介され，就中Iridencleisisは欧米にては，減圧手術中の第一位を占めている様である。

　一般に，手術のMethodeの良否は，その適応と手術に対する術者の熟練の如何が大いに関係するものであつて，一概にその良否を云々するには慎重でなければならない。

The author obtained favorable results on 17 eyes of 10 cases of glaucoma, performing original method of wheeler or modification of it. Indeed, on visual scuity, visual field, ocular tension and findings at the angle of anterior chamber, satisfactory results were observed after the operation.

The improved point by the authors was the position of iridectomy. The author put the position about 12 o'clock because original method produced phothophobia and decreasing of visual acuity. Sometimes from the view of cosmetics, iridectomy was performed at the radir of the iris.
