The authors used phenobal-scopolamin as the agent of pre-operative anesthesia in ocular surgery. The effects were investigated from both sides of subjective side and objective side. The results were as follows.

1) In 41 cases which riceived various ocular surgery, 31 cases kept tranquility and feltno pain through entire course of the operation. Besides, 3 cases felt pain and 1 case showed remarkable excitement.

2) Secondary reaction was almost negative to blood pressure, respiration, pulse and body temperature.
