Ⅰ．緒言

　Scheie氏の角膜辺縁に沿つて強膜を焼灼しつつ前房隅角部に瘢痕性炉過溝をつくり，虹彩根部切除を行なう緑内障手術の術式は既に1949年に同氏等によつて発表^1）された。爾来繰返してその成績が^{2）3）4）5）}報告されているのは周知の如くである。

　我国でも最近諸家の追試成績が報告^6）7）8）されて大概この方法が従来の手術法に比して有用であることが認められている。私共は1年前から各種の緑内障特に続発性緑内障に行なつて減圧効果の著しいことを推賞しているのであるが，たまたま術後両眼に著しい脈絡膜剥離を相次いで起した1例，片眼にだけ認めた1例を経験したので，管錐術術後，水晶体全摘後の例に比較して述べてみたい。

The authors have performed Scheie's peri-pheral iridectomy with Scleral diathermy cautery as the operation of choice for glau-coma cases for the part one year. The out-comes of 23 thus operated cases agreed wellwith the reports of the original author. In three eyes of two cases, howevor, choroidal detachment was observed to occur after the operation.

The first case, a 76-year-old male, had undergone cataract operation for each eye 3 and 6 years before, respectively. The patient visited the clinic of the authors for symptoms of acute secondary glaucoma of recent onset.
