眼瞼皮下に骨腫の出来ることは極めて稀であるとされ，海外にはSbranaとWildiの報告がある1）のみで，我が国では之に相当する疾患は今迄の所報告されていない。私達は先に第163回名古屋眼科集談会の席上，其の一例を報告したが，今回更に一例を得，Kümmell1）が本疾患の組織学的所見，並びに其の発生機転として記載して居る所に誤りがあることを知つたので，此処に訂正し，諸家の御批判を仰ぐものである。
A hard pea-sized tumor was found under the skin of the right eye lid of twenty year old male potter.
Histology of this tumor resembled a rare osteoblastoma which was reported by Kümmel in "Handbuch der speziellen pathologischen Anatomie und Histologie (Henke und Lubarsch), Auge, Zweiter Teil, S. 211".
Further examination revealed that this was formed from the ossification of squematous epithelium entered in the skin, that is the tumor consisted of osteoblast changed from fibroblast.
Therefore, this should be named the "Plattenepithelioma ossificans", and not "Osteoblasto-ma". This probably occured in the embryonic stage.
