Study on Materials to Reconstruct the Tarsal Defect

緒言

　眼瞼瞼板の欠損形成にはFox法^1）が愛用されている。しかし，本法では移植された瞼板内のマイボーム腺排出管口は，眼瞼遊離縁に対して逆方向に向くことになる。そこで，このような状態に移植されたマイボーム腺は，どのような運命をたどるかを病理組織学的に検討し，さらに本法より優れた瞼板再建法はないものかという観点に立ち次の実験を行なつた。

For the reconstruction of the eyelid Fox's procedure is widely used, but by this method central canals of Meibomian glands are fixed in the upside-down direction.

To follow up the destiny of these glands, to find out a better way to keep them in ordinary function and also to seek any other material as substitute for the tarsal plate, the following experimental studies on four groups of adult rabbits were carried out.

(1) Tarsoconjunctival flap transplantation in Fox's technique.

(2) Free homotransplantation of the tarsus, Meibomian glands of which were kept in nor-mal direction.
