緒言

　家族性黒内障性痴呆は，発病年齢，およびその症状によって分類されているが，Tay-Sachs型が比較的多いのにくらべ，Vogt-Spielmeyer型は割合少ないようである。ともに進行型の視力障害と大脳障害症状を示すが，若年型は，その眼底変化は，黄斑部の変化を主とするものと，周辺部網膜の変化を主とするものに分けられる。今回，両方の変化が混在している若年型と思われる1症例を経験したので報告する。

A case of juvenile familial amaurotic idiocy is presented in whom both the macula and the peripheral fundus were pathologically affected.

The patient, now 14 years of age, had develop-ed epileptic seizures at 8 years followed by gradual loss of intellect, deterioration of vision and lack of fluency of speech.

The fundus finding consisted of macular de-generation and pigment degeneration in the pe-riphery. The ERG was extinguished. Pathologi-cal studies of the biopsied rectum revealed an increase of lipid-containing cells in the tunica mucosa.
