緒言
著者らは，さきの第22回臨床眼科学会においてCyclic oculomotor spasm （Cyclic oculolnotorparalysis）の1例につき報告し，動眼神経支配下の筋群（殊に近見輻輳に関与する筋群）に一定の周期で痙攣と弛緩が，覚醒時，睡眠時を通して反復してみられる現象に対し，周期性眼筋痙攣弛緩現象なる名称を用いた。またこの現象は，生理的には，輻輳の皮質中枢から輻輳の持続刺激が発生し核付近の輻輳の中間中枢で制御されているものが，核付近の障害により閾値変動を起こし，周期性興奮が発現するため生ずるのではなかろうかという仮説をたてた。著者らは，その後3例の本現象を示す症例に遭遇し，発現年齢，臨床所見，特に周期や睡眠，麻酔による影響について各症例による差異を認めたので，これらについて報告するとともに，共通した所見としてその垂直性眼球運動障害に関し，若干の知見を得たのでここに報告する。
1. Three cases of cyclic oculomotor spasm relaxation phaenomenon were recently found, and were compared with similar cases reported by other workers as well as with the last case which we reported in the previous paper.
2. It seems that in most congenital cases the already existing abnormality begins to show distinctively cyclic nature several years after birth. We think this is connected with the fact that the convergence mechanism develops gra-dually after birth.
3. While sleeping, the cyclic phenomena dis-appeared in some cases but persistvd in other cases.
