I．緒言
最近，臨床生化学の進歩に伴い，先天性代謝異常の研究は長足の発展がみられる。
眼科領域でも，従来，原因不明とされてきたある種の疾患について，その疾患の本態，あるいはその原因の解明のために，臨床生化学的検索は不可欠の手段として大いに注目されるようになつた。われわれは最近，全身症状に加えて，眼症状を呈したアミノ酸代謝障害によると考えられるCystinosisおよびHomocystinuriaの各1例に遭遇したが，これら症例の詳細な生化学的検討を行ない，診断を確定したのでここに報告し，特にこれら疾患に対する生化学的検査の重要性をあらためて喚起したい。
Two cases of amino acid metabolic disturban-ces with ocular manifestations were reported.
Case 1 (Cystinosis)
2-year and 4-month-old girl was hospitalized because of developmental retardation, inability to walk and poor appetite. Physical and bioche-mical examination revealed a functional distur-bance of renal tubules. X-ray film of bones showed marked rickets-like changes.
Examination of the eyes disclosed an accu-mulation of cystine crystals in the superficial layer of the corneas.
