I．緒言
茯苓（Pachyma Hoelen）は真菌植物門に属し，従来より生薬の一つとして用いられてきた。
先にわれわれは茯苓煮沸滲出瀘液の静注による家兎眼圧に及ぼす影響を検討し，これが眼圧下降作用を有することを報告した1）。そこで今回は生薬としての茯苓が利尿剤の一つとして用いられているところから，茯苓の眼圧下降作用機序について，茯苓の利尿作用に関連して一連の実験を試みたので引続き報告する。
Extracts of Pachyma Hoelen have been shown to possess hypotensive action in rabbit eyes when admininistered through intravenous route (rep-orted in: Acta Soc. Ophth. Jap. 70; 915, 1966).As Pachyma Hoelen has legendarily been used as diuretica in oriental medicine, rabbit expe-riments have been conducted in order to ascer-tain the nature of mechanism of fall in intra-ocular pressure in relation to its renal effects.
1. A 40% increase in urinary volume took place 10 minutes following intravenous injection of 2cc/kg Pachyma Hoelen extracts in water-treated rabbits.
