I．緒言

　白内障の全摘術にα—キモトリプシン（α—キモと略す）を使用し，チン氏帯を容易に溶解離断せしめる方法は，現在まで多くの医家が賞用しているが，この際α—キモが眼の他の組織にも何等かの影響を及ぼすことが案じられ，この問題が取り上げられている。事実断帯後その作用を直ちにinactivierenさすことができれば，都合がよいと考える。

　Bayer社で発売しているTrasylolはPankreasの疾患に著効があり，その作用がカリクレイン，キモトリプシンおよびα—キモにもinhibitorとして作用することを知り（多価蛋白分解酵素阻害剤），一定期間作用きせた後にこの液で洗うことを考え，白内障40例に行なつたのでその成績を述べる。

It has been known that α-chymotrypsin applied during cataract surgery exerts irritative action upon ocular tissues besides the intended digestive one as regards the zonular fibers of Zinn. The present authors attempted to minimize the undesired side effects of α-chymotrypsin by inactivating it through application of Trasylol which is a known inhibitor of α-chymotrypsin.

Preliminary experiments upon rabbits have shown that no prominent pathological changes occurred when the anterior chamber was irrig-ated following application of α-chymotrypsin.
