I．緒言
緑内障に対する減圧手術については，多くの未解決の問題を含み，その手術々式についても，いまだ決定的方法をみない状態である。
1958年，Scheie1）が強膜焼灼を併用せる周辺虹彩切除術，いわゆるScheie氏手術を発表し，さらに報を重ねて2）3）その成績の良好なることを述べているが，以来，米国はいうにおよばず4）5），本邦においてもひろく行なわれるに到り，その成績も多数報告されている6）〜15）。
In this report, we described the results of peripheral iridectomy with scleral cautery (Scheie's Operation) on 106 eyes of 90 cases with various types of glaucoma.
This procedure controlled the pressure in 15 of 16 eyes with acute angle closure glaucoma, in 18 of 18 eyes with chronic narrow angle glau-coma, in 30 of 32 eyes with open angle sim-ple glaucoma, 8 of 10 eyes with narrow angle simple glaucoma, in 3 of 6 eyes with develop-mental glaucoma and in 16 of 24 eyes with various types of secondary glaucoma.
