A Case Report of Precipitation of Polyvinylpyrrolidon (PVP)

I．緒言

　Polyvinylpyrrolidon （PVP）はドイツで第二次大戦中代用血漿剤の研究が盛んにおこなわれた結果，Reppe^3）（1940）によって創製された人工膠質である。

　Acetylenからの重合によって任意の分子量がえられ，安定性があり，刺激・アレルギー作用がなく，毒性も少なく，血清および組織の洗滌作用があり，とくにその低分子のものは排泄が良好で生体に悪影響を与えないとして，眼科にかぎらずその医学的応用の広いものである。

A 25-year-old male was seen with visual de-terioration in the left eye as the chief com-plaint which began 3 months before. The visu-al acuity was 0.9 OD and 0.05 OS. Marked exudation over the disc with haemorrhage ex-tending over the macula was present in the left eye. Campimetry showed the presence of fan-shaped scotoma including the blind spot. Toxoplasma HA test was positive at 8,192 x and the diagnosis was given as Edmund-Jen-sen's disease.
