I．緒言

　ウブレチッドUbretidはオーストリアのSt—ickstoffwerke A．　G．で開発された抗コリンエステラーゼ剤で，2個の機能基（4級アンモニウム）がヘキサメチレン基で結合されており，主としてTrue Cholinesteraseと可逆的に結合し，持続的な抗コリンエステラーゼ作用を示す。

　構造は第1図に示した通りである。

A clinical appraisal was conducted over the possible antiglaucomatous effect of Ubretid (1- methyl-3-hydroxypyridinium bromide-1,6-methyl carbamate) which was developed as long-acting anticholinestcrase preparation in A ustria. A total of 34 eyes of 17 glaucomatous patientswere treated by 1 % ophthalmic solution of Ubretid instilled once daily.

Maximum miosis was attained two to six hours following instillation and lasted for 24 to 36 hours. Decrease of ocular tension almost paralleled the degree of pupillary constriction and lasted for about 24 hours.
