　Chlordiazepoxide　（Balance）はHoffmannLa Roche社に於て合成された優れた精神調整剤として，既に精神神経科を始めとして各科で，不安，焦燥，緊張感を有する各種疾患に広く用いられるようになつた。眼科領域に於ても，少数ながら閃輝性暗点，緑内障に用いて有効であるという報告がある。著者は今回バランスを眼科領域なかんづく一般術前術後患者，緑内障患者及び小児の神経症に試用する機会を得たので，その成績を報告する。

Chlordiazepoxide (Balance) was administered orally to (1) 22 patients undergoing eye sur-gery, as a premedication in a dose of 30mg H.S. and 30mg the morning of operation and as a post-operative sedative in a dose of 30mg a day, (2) 8 out-patients and 6 in-patients with chronic glaucoma in a dose of 30-50mg a day in a study of its effect on intraocular pressure, (3) 11 other patients with glaucoma in a study of its effect on tonography, and (4) a 6-year-old boy suffering from anxiety neurosis in a dose of 15mg a day.
