新局所麻酔剤キシロカインの使用経験（2）—第二篇 表面麻酔について

Experience of new topical anesthesia, Xylocaine ( 2 )

　前報で新局所麻酔剤キシロカインの浸潤及び伝達麻酔効果について述べたが今回は局所表面麻酔剤としての効果を動物及び人体実験臨床実験より観察併せて従来の麻酔藥との比較を試みたのでその成績を発表する。

The topical anesthetic action of Xylocaine was studied in animal and clinical experiments, in comparing with Cocaine, T-caine and Narcaine. In animal experiments, the appearance time of anaesthesia was shortest without any irritability and maintenance time of anae-sthesia of 4 % Xylocaine correspondedto 2 % Cocaine with no side effect. No disturbance to the rgeneration of corneal epithelium. In clinical experiments, the same resultswas obtained and 4% Xylocaine corresponded to 2% Cocaine and 3 drops of 2 % Xylocaine to 0.4% Narcaine.
