要約　背景：アトピー白内障と加齢白内障の脂肪酸組成，ガングリオシド，ミオイノシトールを比較し，報告した。目的：アトピー白内障でのシアリルルイスXとルイスXの報告。対象と方法：囊内摘出を行った55歳と58歳男性のアトピー白内障2眼を対象とし，薄層クロマトグラフィで検索し，ほぼ同年齢の加齢白内障2眼と比較した。結果：アトピー白内障では水晶体蛋白量あたりのシアル酸が増加し，シアリルルイスXとルイスXのバンドが認められた。結論：アトピー白内障では，シアリルルイスXとルイスXの量的質的変化により上皮細胞と線維細胞の接着性に変化が起こり，その発症に関与している可能性がある。

Abstract.　Background：We compared atopic and age-related cataract regarding the content of fatty acid,gangliosides and myoinositol in an earlier study. Purpose：To report the content of slow-moving gangliosides sialyl Lewis X and Lewis X in atopic cataract. Material and Method：We analyzed two lenses with atopic cataract obtained by intracapsular cataract extraction. Both were males aged 55 and 58 years. Two lenses with age-related cataract served as control. Results：Lenses with atopic cataract showed increased sialic acid per protein unit. Thin-layer chromatography showed bands corresponding to sialyl Lewis X and Lewis X. Conclusion：Changes in sialyl Lewis X and Lewis X may induce altered adhesion among epithelial cells and fibrocytes and may manifest as atopic cataract.
