前極部アトピー白内障水晶体上皮細胞の形態学的検討

Morphological features of lens epithelial cells in atopic anterior polar cataract

　前極部前嚢下アトピー白内障9例9眼で，前嚢を手術により採取し，水晶体上皮細胞を検索した。年齢は24〜46歳，平均28.8歳である。検索には実体顕微鏡と走査電子顕微鏡を用いた。水晶体上皮細胞は混濁部位，これを囲む混濁部位周辺，透明部位とに分けて検討した。混濁部位周辺では水晶体上皮細胞の面積は混濁部位の面積と強く相関し（r＝0.97），年齢とは相関しなかった。透明部位では水晶体上皮細胞面積が年齢と強く相関した（r＝0.87）。前極部アトピー白内障での上皮細胞障害が前極部混濁部位の面積に大きく影響されることを示す所見である。

We observed the lens epithelial cells in the surgically obtained anterior capsule in 9 eyes of 9 atopic patients with anterior polar cataract. The ages ranged from 24 to 46 years, average 28.8 years. We used a stereomicroscope and a scanning electron microscope in the observation. Lens epithelial cells were evaluated in three zones : opaque, semi-opaque and clear zones. The size of epithelial cells in the semi-opaque zone showed a significant positive correlation with the size of opaque zone (r=0.97). It was not correlated with the age. The size of epithelial cells in the clear zone showed a significant positive correlation with the age (r=0.87). The findings show that the damage in lens epithelial cells is correlated with the size of opaque area in atopic anterior polar cataract.
