  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

A 82-year-old female received cataract surgery in her right eye by phacoemulsification-aspiration and intraocular lens(IOL)implantation. IOL was made of hydrogel and refraction of+22 diopters. Twelve months after surgery, liquefied material was found in the space between IOL and posterior capsule. Anterior eye segment analysis system(EAS-1000)showed high density in the liquefied material. This material disappeared spontaneously 6months later. A similar finding recurred another 6months later to spontaneously disappear after 6months. Her corrected visual acuity remained unchanged at 1.2 throughout the postoperative period. This case was interpreted as liquefied after cataract. Anterior eye segment analysis system was useful in the diagnosis and follow-up of this condition.
