小脳転移癌の2例

Two cases of Carcinomatous Metastases to the Cerebella

　癌腫は現今においてもそれ自体が極めて悪性の疾患として，人類に広く脅威を与えているが，これが時として人体機能の最高中枢器官である脳組織に転移を形成し，烈しい神経症状を発呈して患者を一層の苦しみへと陥れる。而も或る部位の原発癌においては比較的頭蓋内転移を来し易い傾向すら存する。

　私は最近，2例の頭蓋内転移癌を経験し，一は直腸癌より，他は肺臓癌より何れも小脳に転移を現わして不幸の転帰を辿つたものであるが，こゝにその2例の臨床経過及び剖検所見を報告し，併せて頭蓋内転移に対する身体各処の原発癌の態度の相違等に就いて考察を進め，本2例がそれらの中の如何なる位置を占めるかに就き論じてみたいと思う。

I made a report of clinical developments and the findings obtained by dissection on the two cases of intracranial metastatic cancer, with some observations. The primary focus of the first case was rectum, and that of the se-cond lung, but in either of both cases metasta-tic focus in cranium was found in the left cerebellar hemisphere.

From histological point of view the first case was the carcinoma of cylindical cells, and the second one that of pavement epitheis. Generally speaking, the primary focus of int-racranial metastatic cancer was found mostly in lung and breast, but seldom in rectum. Carcino-matous metsatatis in cranium occurred more often on the left side than on the right one. In the majority of cases metastatic region was cerebrum, but cerebellum also was apt to form the same region in spite of its small area, and that just as in the above two cases, had al-most always the tendency to occur in the left cerebellar hemisphere.
