To determine the characteristics of GI(gastrointestinal)involvements in patients with EGPA(eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis), we reviewed the findings of GI examinations in 10 such patients. The 10 patients included 7 men and 3 women, with an average age of 53.2 years. GI involvements were found in the duodenum in 2, jejunum or ileum in 2, terminal ileum in 1, and colorectum in all patients. Colorectal involvements were more frequent in the distal colorectum than in the proximal colon(p=0.015). Multiple erosions or ulcerations accompanied by marginal reddish mucosa were considered to be the characteristic GI findings. Distal colorectum was the most frequently involved site in EGPA. Small intestine seems to be frequently involved in the disease ; however, further investigation is necessary.
